This dua is recited to express the intention (niyyah) to fast during the upcoming day. It's important to note that intention is a crucial aspect of fasting in Islam, and expressing it verbally or in one's heart is a key part of starting the fast.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ، وَبِصَوْمِ غَدٍ نَّوَيْتُ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

Bismillahi r-rahmani r-rahim, wa bisawmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri Ramadan.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. I intend to keep the fast tomorrow in the month of Ramadan.
